Whether you're replacing a boiler that's finally given up or upgrading an old system that costs a fortune to run, the job starts the same way: understanding the house before recommending anything.
That means looking at the size of the property, the number of radiators and bathrooms, your water pressure and how you actually use your heating. Only then does a recommendation make sense. The right boiler for a two-bed terrace is not the right boiler for a four-bed with two bathrooms, and nobody should be selling you the biggest unit on the shelf just because it's the biggest.

Combi, system or regular?
A combi heats water on demand and needs no tanks or cylinder, which suits most smaller homes and saves space. A system boiler works with a hot water cylinder and copes far better when several taps or showers run at once. A regular (heat-only) boiler keeps the traditional tank-and-cylinder setup, and is often the sensible choice in older properties with low water pressure.
Switching between types is possible but adds cost and disruption. Part of the survey is being honest about whether that change is genuinely worth it for you, or whether you're better off staying with what you have.

Boiler installation FAQs
How long does a new boiler take to fit?
A straight swap in the same location is usually a single day. Moving the boiler, or converting from one type to another, typically takes two to three days. You'll be told which applies before any work is booked.
Will you register the warranty for me?
Yes. The installation is registered with the manufacturer and notified under Building Regulations, and you'll get the certificate. That paperwork is what keeps the warranty valid.
Do I need a power flush with a new boiler?
Not always, but often. Sludge from an old system will damage a new boiler and can invalidate the warranty. We'll tell you honestly whether your system needs a full power flush or whether a chemical flush is enough.
