Most boiler breakdowns don't happen out of nowhere. They build up over months, and a service is where they get caught: a pressure drop, a worn seal, a flue that isn't sealing properly, a component drifting out of tolerance.

A service also matters for a reason people forget. Nearly every manufacturer requires an annual service to keep the warranty valid. Skip it for a year and a fault that should have been covered can become a bill you pay yourself.

What a service includes

• Full visual inspection of the boiler and its flue
• Gas pressure and flow rate checked against manufacturer spec
• Combustion analysis with a flue gas analyser
• Seals, electrodes and key components inspected
• Safety devices tested
• Casing removed, internals cleaned as required
• A written record of everything checked

If it's already broken

No heating or no hot water is not a job that waits. Call or text and you'll get an honest answer about how quickly it can be looked at.

The fault gets diagnosed and explained in plain English, and you get a clear price before any repair work starts. If a repair genuinely isn't economical (which happens with older boilers where parts are scarce), you'll be told that straight rather than sold a repair that only buys a few months.
